At BONSAI, we believe that data privacy and environmental sustainability are intrinsically linked. Over-collection of data wastes server resources, increases carbon footprints, and violates user trust. Our policy is simple: we collect only what is absolutely necessary.

1. Information We Collect

We do not use tracking pixels, invasive cookies, or third-party analytics that profile our visitors. If you use Kiwi IDE, we collect minimal diagnostic data solely for calculating your carbon expenditure, which is stored locally on your device where possible.

2. Ethical AI Training

We do not train our foundational models on private user data. Any telemetric data collected is aggregated, anonymized, and used strictly to improve compute efficiency.

3. Data Retention

Data is a physical asset that requires energy to maintain. We delete inactive accounts and their associated data after 12 months of inactivity to minimize server load and respect your privacy.
